Heather Carothers Counseling

At some point in life, we all come across pains, struggles, or wonderings about ourselves, our story, and the impact it has made on us. Counseling is a safe space to explore your story. The hope is to develop a deeper awareness and compassion for yourself, as well as to empower you to live life more whole.

Heather’s approach

Through deep care and empathy, as well as an awareness to mind and body, I desire to offer you a space that allows your curiosity to flourish with compassion. We are all unique and complex, and the means that my approach to each client will have some variety based on what your hopes are for seeking out counseling.

What to expect?

All your appointments will take place in our soothing office environment with fully private rooms. During the first session, we will go over paperwork, discuss confidentiality, and begin to explore your reason for coming in as well as your hopes in coming in. In that session, it is an opportunity to see if you “feel felt” as a good relationship is vital to the counseling process.

Meet Heather

Heather is a passionate mental health counselor who desires to create a safe space to explore and offer curiosity to your unique story, and the impact in your life.  She valued this in her own journey, and it is an honor to offer it to others.

Heather’s deepest belief is that while relationships so often wound us, they are also one of the tools that can provide the most healing. With this belief, Heather takes an integrated approach rooted in Attachment theory, but also pulls from Somatic, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Rogerian therapies.

Heather does not claim to be an expert in one area but enjoys a broad range of clients. She has worked with depression, grief/loss, anxiety, trauma, abuse, cultural adjustment, relationship issues, and identity formation.
